The brain depends on a continuous and precisely regulated blood supply. The Harraz Lab studies how ion channels and signaling pathways enable cells within the brain microvasculature to sense local activity, communicate over distance, and direct blood flow where it is needed. Our goal is to uncover how these signaling networks operate in health and how their disruption contributes to disease.
